What is the process for passing resolutions?
Resolutions for the 2011 meeting are due by October 19. After the resolutions have been compiled, they are reviewed by Great Lakes United staff and Board of Directors to ensure consistency with existing coalition policies, and then presented to the coalition for comment and potential revision or strengthening. When consensus is found between the sponsoring organization and the coalition as a whole, the resolution is finalized and brought forward for a formal vote.

When a resolution is passed, it is signed by the Secretary of the Board of Directors and affirmed as Great Lakes United policy. From there, Great Lakes United works with the submitting organization to follow through on any commitments, and to ensure that the position is publicized and seen by decision-makers.
